Turner Wilkes

Turner Wilkes works with school age children and is on staff at a church in Chesterfield, Va working primarily with youth and the praise band in worship. However, Turner’s true passion is being out in nature, and as such he describes his exploits as worship in and of itself.

For many of us we ask ourselves, “Do we truly take opportunities to worship?” Whether you work in the church or not do you take moments to engage in worshipful acts that fill your soul. Worship is that which connects us to God, and by that definition becomes an important part of a theology of self-care. Turner takes us on a worship journey, and explores this nature of connecting to God through nature, and photography.

Let us ask ourselves how we see ourselves being cared for in the midst of worships and how we can treat worship as an escape from the hecticness of every-day life, no matter or where we find that sense and experience.
